Week 8

God Is Dependable: He Should Be Able to Depend On Me

Not Being Dependable:

Pick one day or part of one day this week where you will illustrate to your children what it looks like to not be dependable. "Forget" to fix dinner one night, don't clean up the house or don't do the laundry. After the activity, talk about how each of us relies on others to be dependable and when they don't follow through, it affects a lot of people.

Eye Spy Dependability:

As a family, discuss what dependability looks like. Talk to different people that you see as dependable: school teachers, parents, etc. What would happen if one of these people just stopped being dependable? What if your parent didn't pick you up from school, or forget to buy groceries for the week? What if your teacher forget to tell you about a test you had to take? Discuss how important it is for each of us to be dependable to God and others.

Bible Story:

Read the Bible Story in Matthew 16:13-20. God gave Peter a big responsibility, and Peter proved that God could depend on him. What are some ways that you could be more dependable?

Memory verse : James 1:22
